Samsung is furious! Someone photographed the Galaxy Z Fold7, it looks absolutely great in this color

While the official unveiling of Samsung’s latest generation of foldable phones is less than a week away, leaked photos are already flooding the internet. These give us the first real look at the Galaxy Z Fold7 in the attractive Blue Shadow variant. What will the new flagship, which will be introduced to the world on July 9 at the Galaxy Unpacked event, bring?

Revolution in thickness and weight

The biggest surprise of the new Z Fold is not radical design changes – these remain rather evolutionary with a similar camera layout as its predecessor. What is breathtaking, however, are the new dimensions. Samsung has reportedly managed to reduce the device’s thickness to just 4.2 mm when unfolded, which is a significant leap forward compared to last year’s 5.6 mm. When closed, the phone is expected to measure only 8.9 mm instead of the current 12.1 mm, bringing it closer to Chinese competitors.

Even more interesting, however, is the slimming treatment the device has undergone. A weight of just 215 grams means the Z Fold7 will be a full 24 grams lighter than the previous model.

For comparison – that’s a similar difference as between a regular mobile phone with and without a case. In everyday use of such a large device, this will be a significant improvement in user comfort.

Larger displays and top-tier hardware

According to available information, we can look forward to an 8.2-inch main display, which represents a slight increase compared to the current 7.6-inch diagonal. The outer screen will grow to 6.5 inches with a 21:9 aspect ratio, which should improve the phone’s usability when closed. I personally look forward to the front display the most and currently see it as clearly the biggest intergenerational advantage. While I found the foldable Honors easy to use even when closed, with the Fold it was still more of a makeshift solution.

The entire device will be powered by an exclusive version of the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy processor, complemented by up to 16 GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The expected battery capacity of 4,400 mAh with support for 25W charging, however, does not represent any breakthrough and will lag behind the competition. In terms of software, Samsung will immediately deploy One UI 8 built on Android 16.

Accessories hint at a big change

In addition to photos of the phone itself, information about upcoming accessories has also leaked. Samsung is preparing five types of covers – from standard silicone ones to transparent variants and a luxury model with a carbon pattern.

A surprising finding, however, is that none of the official covers offer an S Pen slot. This supports earlier speculation that the Z Fold7 might lose stylus support, or that Samsung is preparing a complete redesign of it.

A rich offering of foldables

Galaxy Unpacked promises to be a packed event. In addition to the flagship new Fold, we expect the introduction of the new generation of the clamshell foldable Z Flip7, as well as its first more affordable variant, the Z Flip7 FE. They will be complemented by the new series of smartwatches, the Galaxy Watch 8.

If all leaked information is confirmed, Samsung is heading towards a significant improvement of its foldable line. A thinner, lighter, and more powerful device could convince even those who have so far approached foldable phones with distrust. Whether this will actually be the case, we will find out on July 9.
