Samsung continues its effort to bring premium features to more affordable phones, at least at first glance. The latest proof is the expansion of the AI super slow-mo feature, originally available only on flagship Galaxy S series models, to selected mid-range models. Owners of Galaxy A36, A54, A55, and A56 phones can now also enjoy slow-motion effects in videos, without the need for complex edits or special recording modes.

The feature, which was originally part of the Galaxy AI suite on flagship models, now comes to mid-range devices through the Galaxy Enhance-X app. However, on the Galaxy A56 model, this capability is integrated directly into the Gallery app.

How AI super slow-mo works

The principle of the function is simple and very intuitive. When playing any video, simply hold your finger on the screen at the moment you want to slow down. After lifting your finger, the video will return to normal speed. This principle allows creating dramatic slow-motion effects at key moments without having to originally record the video in slow-motion mode.

The technology uses artificial intelligence to generate additional frames needed for a smooth slow-motion effect. This makes the resulting slow-down appear natural, unlike the jerky effect that occurs when simply slowing down a regular video without adding intermediate frames.

Up to three slow-motion clips can be created from each video in this way, which are saved to the gallery as separate files. This is ideal for creating dramatic moments from sports footage, capturing emotional moments, or simply enhancing regular videos before sharing on social media.

Enhance-X: Gateway to AI features for the mid-range

While Samsung’s flagship phones get the full suite of Galaxy AI features directly in the system, mid-range models gain access to selected AI features through the Galaxy Enhance-X app. This app serves as a central point for AI photo and video enhancements for devices that do not have full Galaxy AI support.

Galaxy Enhance-X nabízí mnoho dalších funkcí kromě zpomaleného videa. Patří mezi ně například odstranění rozmazání, eliminace odlesků či vylepšení kvality nočních snímků.

Aktualizace aplikace na verzi 15.2.17, která přináší funkci super slow-mo, je již dostupná ke stažení v Galaxy Store. Pokud tedy vlastníte některý z podporovaných modelů (Galaxy A36, A54, A55) a tuto funkci nevidíte, stačí aplikaci aktualizovat na nejnovější verzi.
