A very interesting new product is arriving on the Czech market – the Aqara Doorbell Camera Hub G410 Select video doorbell, which takes the capabilities of smart doorbells to a whole new level. It’s not just a simple camera with a button, but a full-fledged control hub for the entire smart home. It combines a 2K camera, advanced motion detection, facial recognition, and a central hub for Matter and Zigbee devices.

Quality image day and night

The foundation of any video doorbell is, of course, the camera, and the one on the Aqara G410 Select certainly doesn’t disappoint. It offers detailed 2K resolution (2304 × 1296 pixels), ensuring a sharp image with clear details even when zoomed in. Thanks to the f/1.8 aperture, the footage is high-quality and clear even in low light conditions.

The 4:3 aspect ratio combined with an ultra-wide 175° field of view provides a complete overview of what’s happening in front of your door. This viewing angle is significantly wider than typical video doorbells, allowing you to see not only visitors‘ faces but also packages placed on the ground. For a perfect view even at night, the doorbell is equipped with high-quality infrared night vision.

Revolution in Detection: mmWave Radar

Standard video doorbells often suffer from false alarms caused by moving branches, shadows, or passing cars. I can confirm this, as I own an older generation of this doorbell myself. However, the Aqara G410 Select comes with new technology – a built-in mmWave radar, which provides significantly more accurate presence detection with minimal false alarms.

In addition to the radar, it also features advanced on-device facial recognition, which triggers personalized notifications without the need for a cloud subscription. The system can distinguish family members from strangers and trigger different automations based on who has arrived at the door – for example, automatically turning on lights when a family member arrives.

Hub for the Entire Smart Home

What makes the Aqara G410 Select truly exceptional is its function as a central hub. As the only video doorbell on the market, it combines:

  • Matter Controller – connection with dozens of device types supporting the Matter standard
  • Thread Border Router – for connecting Thread devices to the home network
  • Zigbee Hub – connecting up to 40 Aqara Zigbee devices

Thanks to this unique combination, you can use the Aqara G410 Select as the central brain for your entire smart home ecosystem. This eliminates the need to purchase a separate hub, saving not only money but also space and the number of occupied outlets.

Maximum Compatibility with Ecosystems

The Aqara G410 Select is compatible with all major smart home platforms. It integrates seamlessly with:

  • Apple Home (including HomeKit Secure Video support)
  • Google Home
  • Amazon Alexa
  • Samsung SmartThings
  • Home Assistant (via RTSP for advanced automation)

With HomeKit Secure Video support, Apple device users can utilize end-to-end encrypted recording storage via their existing iCloud subscription, without additional fees. Owners of other platforms will appreciate direct streaming to Google, Amazon, or Samsung smart displays.

Flexible Power and Recording Storage

The Aqara G410 Select video doorbell offers two power options according to your preference:

  • Battery power – using six AA batteries, which last up to 5 months thanks to energy-saving technology with radar detection (in practice, the battery life is shorter, about 2-3 months, based on my experience)
  • Wired power – connecting to existing doorbell wiring for continuous operation

For storing recordings, the user has three options:

  • Local storage – on a microSD card (up to 512 GB) located in the indoor chime, which prevents theft of recordings
  • NAS backup – storing on local network storage
  • Cloud storage – optional HomeGuardian service with end-to-end encryption (includes a 3-month trial)

Privacy and Security Protection

The Aqara G410 Select offers several unique features to enhance privacy and security:

  • Image masking – you can permanently block sensitive areas that you don’t want to appear in recordings
  • Voice change technology – during two-way communication, you can use one of 4 different voices for greater security
  • Tamper alert – in case of attempted disassembly, a siren and recording automatically start
  • WPA3 standard for stronger Wi-Fi network security

The package also includes a separate indoor chime with a volume of 95 dB, which allows playing custom ringtones or pre-recorded voice messages. It is powered via USB-C.

The Aqara G410 Select video doorbell is available in black for a price of 3 390 Kč. Given its functionality, replacing not only a video doorbell but also a smart home hub, it is a very competitive price compared to other solutions on the market.
